General terms and conditions applicable to all Newstar stays, as well as information on the protection of personal information (Quebec’s Law 25).

Legal Framework

Hôtel Newstar and Motel Newstar are governed by Quebec’s Act respecting tourist accommodation establishments. They do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Tribunal administratif du logement, formerly known as the Régie du logement. Therefore, even an extended stay does not constitute a residential lease.

Cancellation, Changes and Early Departure

Nightly Reservations

The same conditions apply whether you are staying nightly, weekly or monthly. The exact cancellation deadline is specified at the time of booking, depending on the type of reservation you make. For weekly or monthly stays, the same conditions apply as long as the period has not yet been paid. Once the period has been paid, no partial or full refund will be issued in the event of an early departure. The security deposit remains refundable.

Weekly and Monthly Stays

As long as the period has not been paid and the stay has not begun, the same conditions as for a nightly reservation apply.

Once the period has been paid, no partial or full refund will be issued in the event of an early departure. The security deposit remains refundable provided the room is left in good condition.

Renewal

Renewal must be requested at least 48 hours in advance for a weekly stay and one week in advance for a monthly stay. Full payment is required at the time of renewal. In the event of late payment, the property reserves the right to terminate the rental.

The room is inspected before each renewal. If the room is not in good condition, the property reserves the right not to renew the rental.
